MAKE A FRIEND EVERY DAY
Ideavelop represents six premium brands in the retail market in Europe. We work according to our philosophy "Make a Friend Every Day". We provide excellent customer support, marketing and logistic services to our customers. With a team of 30 young and enthusiastic colleagues, we are out in the market promoting outdoor equipment and baby gear. Recently we even started making clothes out of recycled denim!
Our Story: What makes us... us?
In 1996 our CEO Arnold Mensinga made a trip with his wife around the world. Travelling through Russia, Mongolia, China and many other wonderful places was not only a personal enrichment, but also the start of a wonderful company: Ideavelop was born. During this time his wife was pregnant with their first daughter. They soon fell in love with one of the strollers of phil&teds, a Kiwi baby brand. The launch of the tricycle stroller of phil&teds in the European market followed soon in 1997. With only three other buggy brands the time this was a very rare phenomenon in the streets. Fortunately, the retailers and consumers welcomed the brand with open arms. Two decades later, the products of phil&teds are available worldwide in more than 50 countries.
In the years that followed, we adopted more premium brands from New Zealand: Icebreaker, Macpac and Mountain Buggy.
Icebreaker. 100% Merino. Pure nature. Functional clothing for the outdoor lover. In 1998 we did the first test with Icebreaker. Again, it was an unique introduction to the European market. However, the first reactions were unfavorable. "Merino wool? No, in outdoor we only sell synthetic clothing", "There will be no wool in my shop. That tickles and it's way too heavy for the outdoors". Many objections were heard. We persevered and one by one the retailers in the power of merino wool. Rightly so. Icebreaker is now sold worldwide and is one of the fastest growing and profitable outdoor brand in many stores. Hip hip hooray!
Macpac. This Kiwi brand - producer of premium backpacks, sleeping bags, baby carriers and tents - was launched in Europe in the year of 2004. Macpac products enjoy a world renowned reputation for their dependability, superb functionality and innovative design. The philosophy at Macpac remains unchanged from how their first packs were created in a suburban garage in Christchurch back in 1973: "We rather repair, than replace". A motto that is preached by many other brands nowadays.
Mountain Buggy. The legacy of a father's need to create a buggy with all terrain agility; to enable him to enjoy the New Zealand mountain trails with his baby. So with precision engineering, he crafted the foundations of Mountain Buggy’s legendary all terrain platform. The design and technology of the platform has evolved over the years to a deliberate design aesthetic influenced by clean lines and functional style. From newborn to toddler, the mountain trails to the city streets – Mountain Buggy enables parents to live life without limit and is part of our brand portfolio since 2009.
