TU Delft Muztagh Ata Expeditie 2009

Only ten days from today we, a group of six students from the Delft University of Technology in the mountainless country of The Netherlands, will travel to the Kunlun mountain range in China to do research on enhanced solar-radiation and in the meantime attempt a ski-aided ascent and descent of the 7546 meters high Muztagh Ata peak. To advise us in preparation of this journey and during the trip, Dutch mountaineering legend Ronald Naar (summiteer of among else K2 and Everest) joined our crew as a mentor and off course his experience and presence is a great source of inspiration for the young students ranging from 18 til 28 years old.

During this adventure our bodies, faces and hands will be kept warm by Icebreakers fine undergarments, balaclavas and gloves, because its merino wool is the only breathable, insulating and especially odour-free material suited for this month long job!
